W10 PRACTICAL: AFTER EFFECTS EXERCISE

Image
November 29th, 2024 Week 10 Summary of this week's lecture: The 10th week assignment involves a completely new application and styling format as we begin to explore the many gimmicks and options Adobe After Effects provide to breathe life into the compositions that we'd usually develop on Adobe Photoshop. For this week's task we are already given a composition to work with as the entire layout to be animated is none other than the example composition given to use by the lecturer many weeks prior as a reference.  The assets are provided as shown here: Another tutorial was provided to us in the form of a video demo teaches us the basics of Adobe After Effects as it allows us to mess around with each individual asset with the compositions' file that was made in Adobe Photoshop. As the file is exported into the application layers are automatically generated for the file which saved significant amounts of time.  Once the file is imported into the application using the impo...

Anti-corruption case studies 2

Introduction to the Corruption Case Analysis Study Work done by: Melvern Owen Tjia (0373754)  Introduction to Corruption Before we get to the analysis, we need to understand the concept of corruption and its effects. Corruption, the very thing that forces a lot of the projects we know today to be held in static progression as funds will run short due to several factors, some of which can involve a third-party suspect. As corruption cases vary between the cause and effect here are some of the factors that will be enlisted. One of the many factors as to why corruption occurs can be due to non-other than both economic and political environments itself. As one with power will be able to seize funds rather easily due to their high positioning, it can also be done as a sign of desperation to improve on one's efficiency agenda. Another factor that would come to mind would include ethics and one's ideals as to why they would justify even going through with the act of corruption in the ...

November 8th, 2024 Week 7 Summary of this week's lecture: For the 7th week we are to further explore the double exposure topic, using Adobe Photoshop once again.  Using the previous lecture's information we decided to alter two images, one that was provided the other  was meant for us to develop our own with an image from ourselves.  This week's exercise provided us with several more elements to use for the practice, the second version allows us to use images provided form google.  The provided image we were required to modify: The finished result: Following the tutorial we manually cropped each element using the selection tool while having the select and mask option on, afterwards we then played around with the layers and blending options to achieve as well, before erasing parts of the image the elements will have their clipping option enabled so it'll overlay onto the person as shown here. Once everything is in another layer that has a gradient applied on wil...

PROJECT 1B: DIGITAL COLLAGE DPI TASK (W3 AND W4)

Image
October 18th, 2024 Week 3 Summary of this week's lecture: This week introduces us to the usage of adobe photoshop as our physical collages acted as a prequel to this current assignment was to do the exact same thing except it is done digitally on Adobe Photoshop. During this week's assessment we are to use the pen tool or selection tool to select and crop the assets that were provided for this week's assignment. After cropping all the asset's background, they will be put together to form a composition in the exact same manner as the previous task was once done. Applying what we've learnt we are to then come up with 3 more additional compositions much like the first task. Here are the three compositions: The three compositions here were made with rules given to us by the lecturer. The first composition was made with the golden ratio in mind as the buildings and fishes align in a way where it fits the grid. The second composition was developed with the rule of three ...

W6: PRACTICAL – RECOLORING BLACK & WHITE

Image
November 1st, 2024 Week 6 Summary of this week's lecture: The current week this time around still revolved around Adobe Photoshop as this time a black and white image is provided to us to be given color. This exercise requires us to mess with layers and their blending options as well much like the other task, only this time we are to apply the overlay option to color over the image with a brush tool. This week's exercise didn't require anything difficult as it only required nothing more than the brush and eraser tool to mess around with the two images given before. The Provided Imagery: Here are the gray scaled images provided for us to work on in Adobe Photoshop. Not much can be elaborated on for the work in progress since it only requires us to add a new layer and switch the blending mode to overlay in order to add color onto the black and white portraits.  24/9/2024 - 1/11/2024 / Week 6 - Week 7 Melvern Owen Tjia / 0373754 Illustration and Visual Narrative / Bachelor of Honor's in Creative Media / Taylor's University Task 2: Exercises 1 Summary for The Work's Process The Beginning , it all started as the first assignment's initiation as we decided on using shapes to create a vormator that was already explained on the first blog. This week's assignment allows us a lot more freedom while also requesting more, for this week's assignment a color and background was introduced to us as we were required to develop background compositions and add more to the vormator's design itself. The Process , the first thing I needed to get done was the vormator's details and as such the coloring process began. Path finding is a concept introduced a little early before the commencement of the second assignment, so the first thing to do was to color the shapes of the vormator to develop a proper image to then be place on a ba...
