Elaboration on the Assignment
For this assignment we are to select a website of horrible or less than optimal design to then develop a proposal for the redesign. The website is to be critically accessed firsthand before the proposal in order to look for areas of improvement.
Design evaluation
Overall, the design of the website presented here appears to be very outdated, utilizing only a select few flat colours with absolutely no animations present, essentially a website that seems rather basic. The navigation bar seems to appear visually unappealing while also being rather convoluted The font as well, appears to be utilizing various different ones instead of sticking to one, making the site appear slightly less consistent. And lastly, the awfully designed footer.
Aside from the overall composition of the website it seems to attempt to integrate the star sprangled banner’s colour scheme

Functionality
As this website is basic, it lacks any visual elements visually that would typically cause longer loading times and performance issues, proving to be optimal enough to be a website used across any device. As tested, this website’s simplicity allows even mobile usage, proving absolutely no issue when attempting to access, no VPN is required either.
Redesign goals and Target Audience
The whole purpose of this redesign is to give the site’s appearance a general overhaul in order to appeal to the masses of today’s time. As competitors strives to survive in this era one must adapt after all. We first start by fixing user experience with a design overhaul as a secondary purpose in order to fit in with more modern times that way clients of newer generations would be able to eventually seek services from this company as it is more implied that this service a lot more tended to by people who own property like a house or a building.
UX Enhancements
From the wireframe design, a couple of changes are present, those changes are none other than:
- First, a simplified navigation bar with a design overhaul
- Second, a slider is given to scroll through services faster without having to manually select each segment
- And lastly, a better overall layout for more readability.
Other changes are more appearance oriented, much like an improved footer along with several theming alterations.
First Image will be the main page, some of the changes present here would be the overhaul of the navigation bar for a much easier access, The images would remain the same as no issue is presented with them, the typeface however will be altered to fit into a more modern and consistent field. The lack of visual effects present in the website may have contributed to its optimization but that will be changed to serve as an eyecatcher for clients.
The second Image would be the services page, instead of manually clicking on each service option a slider would be provided instead in order to speed up browsing time ultimately removing loading intervals between each service type elaboration.
The third image is merely showcasing the credibility of the company itself so not much is to change aside from the theming however, sponsors or partnerships present withing the first slide will be moved to the back while incorporating the same slider changes as seen in page 2. All three of the pages will have an overhauled and simplified navigation system along with an improved footer.
